Summer Reads, Creative Book Covers & Our Next Event
Welcome to the Reading Room Newsletter #4 – your digital reading community.
Dear fellow readers,
The latest edition of the Reading Room newsletter is here – and it's full of inspiration.
But before we get into the interviews and recommendations waiting for you, we're happy to share the date of our next Reading Room event happening in Berlin:
With that said, here’s what’s waiting for you in this edition:
We’re thrilled to bring you two new Fellow Readers interviews.
💭 First up: Ubin Eoh, journalist, writer, podcast host, and lecturer. She shares what she’s currently reading, her golden rule for writing, and the book she always finds herself returning to.
💭 Next, we virtually head to Istanbul, where İpek Soran, editor, translator, and publishing coordinator at children’s book publisher Can Çocuk, shares her favourite reads, reading rituals, spots to read in Istanbul and more.
Ever judged a book by its cover?
Guilty as charged. That’s why we’re extra excited to step inside the creative worlds of three talented graphic designers.
📒 Berlin-based Luise Spielhagen gives insight into her work and tells us how she translates the essence of a book into a cover design, among other things.
📒 We also spoke with Amanda-Li Kollberg and Siri Lee Lindskrog, the duo behind the studio Formal Settings, about their creative inspirations, and the book covers they admire most.
Last but not least:
💡As summer break approaches, don’t miss a new round of Community Reads – a treasure trove of recommendations from across the Reading Room community. Thoughtful titles, diverse voices, it’s all in there.
We hope you enjoy reading this edition and we’d love to see you on July 15!
